Accessible: Nassau Forts, Pirates Museum and Fish Fry
This accessible shore excursion begins with a friendly guide/driver meeting you at the cruise dock, followed by a comfortable, accessible van for a scenic drive through Downtown Nassau. Your first stop is Fort Montagu, built in 1741 from local limestone and one of the oldest forts on New Providence, located at the eastern edge of Nassau Harbour. Next you’ll visit Fort Fincastle and view the Queen’s Staircase, commonly known as the 66 steps, while your guide shares the history and anecdotes unique to the site. The tour continues to the Pirate Museum, a family-friendly venue with interactive exhibits, life-size ship exteriors and interiors, and stories of Blackbeard, Calico Jack Rackham, Anne Bonny and more, covering the Golden Age of Piracy. Then you’ll stop at John Watling’s Distillery to learn about the distillery process and sample the rum. After your distillery visit, you’ll enjoy a delicious island lunch at Fish Fry (guests pay for meals). The day concludes with a safe escorted return to your cruise ship.
