Along the way, pass rustic taverns and bars, cobblestone streets and an ancient castle in the historic quarter. Have some free time to explore and walk around the picturesque town of Lacco Ameno as much or as little as you wish, browsing the upscale shops, stopping for a bite at one of many local restaurants and, of course, marveling at the beautiful views. From there, take a short drive to Poseidon Thermal Gardens, covered by beautiful flowers, for two to three hours of relaxation and fun. Discover 20 different, mineral-rich thermal pools ranging in temperature and salt concentration. Not only are they inviting, but they’re also therapeutic for your health and wellbeing. What’s more, all of these bubbling springs oversee a large private beach in a gorgeous cove that is at your disposal. Relax on a sunbed or lounge chairs — both are complimentary. Postojna Caves

Gasp at amazing geological formations within the Postojna Cave. The show cave is the largest in the “classic karst” and among the most visited in Europe. Your tour begins with a cave train ride on railway lines that were laid in the 1800s. Wind your way through dark mazes and vast open chambers, like the Gothic Hall, in temperatures ranging from 8 and 10 degrees Celsius, and learn the unusual way the Postojna Cave’s geological past was recorded. A wealth of geological formations of various shapes, colors, and age have formed the cave’s halls including those from calcite, stalactite, and stalagmites. You’ll have the chance to depart the train at the Great Mountain so you can walk deep into chambers to view these amazing formations. The Pivka River has carved the cave for at least two million years creating multi levels and limestone layers. People have frequented the cave as early as the 13th century, but it wasn’t until the 1800s that it became open to tourists. Germans, during World War II, used the cave to stash large supplies of gasoline, but the Partisan army destroyed the collection. As many as 100 animals have dwelled in the cave. You will see some of them in the caves’ modern aquarium as well as collections of ancient remains from the Ice Age creatures that were discovered.

The Galleria Borbonica Tunnels and Pizza

Exploring the splendors of Naples on half-day guiding walking tour perfect for small family groups. Take in city sights above ground, including the breathtaking Piazza Plebicito, then head underground for a stroll through the fascinating underground Borbonico Gallery. After, enjoy a delicious pizza lunch at a typical Neapolitan pizzeria. As you leave the ship and set foot on land, be sure to look up at the 13th-century Castel Nuovo, an awe-inspiring medieval structure looming over the harbor. Nearby is the equally amazing early-renaissance Triumphal Arch. During your walk, narrow streets soon give way to the massive Piazza del Plebicito, the central square and heart of the city, dominated by the magnificent red façade of the Royal Palace, the Church of San Francesco di Paola, the Teatro di San Carlo and the Galleria Umberto. Then head underneath the piazza for a walk through the Borbonico Gallery, an underground tunnel built by King Ferdinand II of Bourbon in 1853 and used as a military connection between the Royal Palace and the barracks. The Gallery includes the 17th-century Carmignana aqueduct, built on top what may have been Roman aqueduct. The Gallery also served as a WWII bomb shelter — be on the lookout for vintage cars and motorbikes left behind after the war. Back at the waterfront, discover the famous 12th-century Castle of the Egg, a 12th-century stronghold constructed by the Normans — a great photo opportunity. For lunch, stroll down to a typical Neapolitan pizzeria to savor the real thing in the city where it all began.
