A Cupulatta Tortoise Encounter
This three-hour adventure outside of the city lets you explore A Cupulatta, a natural animal sanctuary where you'll discover various species of tortoises and turtles along forested pathways, plus enjoy free time for shopping and snacks. Welcome to A Cupulatta, one of the world's few parks dedicated to studying and protecting land tortoises, marine turtles and terrapins from all over the world. Follow a knowledgeable guide along shaded plant-laced trails, learning about the breeding behaviors and eating habits of these incredible creatures. The Centre is home to more than 130 species and over 2,000 animals that have either been rescued from mistreatment or born onsite. In outdoor enclosures you'll see a wide range of species, from tiny red-eared slider turtles to Aldabra giant tortoises and the enormous Galapagos tortoise. Please note that there is no direct interaction with the tortoises. Observation is done from designated viewing areas. Then enjoy about 30 to 40 minutes to freely wander, shop at the small boutique, or purchase an ice cream before the return trip to port. This outing is perfect for families and animal lovers alike.
