Drive along the lovely west coastline of Gotland and visit the old fishing village of Kronvalls before continuing to the burial place of Gannarve from the Iron Age. The grave is surrounded by large stones standing upright at an angle, reminiscent of a ship's prow. It's one of about 350 graves of this shape in Gotland and had been destroyed over the ages, but was reconstructed when archeologists discovered it in 1959. Continue to the scenic fishing village of Gnisvärd and enjoy a light lunch at the local restaurant Broman & Son. Next stop is Gallows Hill, Also called Galgberget, Gallows Hill was constructed in the 13th century and is widely considered Europe's best-preserved medieval gallows. Local legend has it that the gallows' placement was no accident: The site can be seen from the sea and from Visby, so that the hangings were public events. Then be refreshed during a short visit to Almedalen, the former sight of the medieval harbour in Visby, today a pleasant park.
