Walk through history on this tour of D-Day’s Omaha Beach, the Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery of Colleville, and the famous Arromanches port. Your coach will take you across the Pont de Normandie and into the lovely French countryside. After a two-and-a-half-hour drive, you’ll arrive at the Pointe du Hoc, a 100-foot promontory that Allied forces climbed in order to gain strategic position against Axis forces. After, you’ll visit Omaha Beach, the location where Allied forces first invaded German-occupied France on D-Day. Next, you’ll pause at the American Memorial at the American Cemetery of Colleville, a historic monument to the soldiers who bravely fought and died on D-Day. Finally, you’ll visit Arromanches port, Gold, Juno and Sword Beaches, and the Pegasus Bridge, where the British Parachute Brigade landed on June 6, 1944. After having time to reflect upon these historic landmarks, you’ll enjoy a scenic ride back to the ship.
