Take a step back in time with a day spent remembering the fabled World War II D-Day invasion as you join a tour of the Normandy beaches and the British Cemetery in Bayeux. Hear first-hand accounts of the 1944 Allied attack while seeing the coastline where the English first landed to liberate occupied France. You’ll view Pegasus Bridge, the first bridge to be liberated on French territory during the war, and then travel along the coast past Sword, Juno and Gold beaches, where land mines and wartime obstacles were once housed. Enjoy free time to explore museum exhibits or grab lunch at Arromanches, an artificial harbor where the successful ground landing took place. In the afternoon you’ll drive to nearby Bayeux to visit the largest British cemetery in France, where more than 4,000 Commonwealth soldiers rest in peace. Spend approximately 30 minutes reflecting independently before being escorted back to port. This tour is definitely one for the history books.
