Enjoy an interpretive drive through historic downtown Skagway and up the Klondike Highway. From the highway, it's a short, inclined nature hike to the base of majestic granite cliffs recently smoothed by retreating glaciers. Don rock climbing shoes, helmet and harness, receive an introduction to climbing from your guides, then rope up and start ascending the clean granite. There are multiple routes to choose from and your guide will help you choose ones based on your experience and desire for a challenge. Each climb offers a stunning aerial view of the Skagway River, the White Pass & Yukon Route railway and the surrounding wilderness. You'll have the opportunity to climb up to 3 of the routes during your trip. This trip utilizes an auto belay system that will gently lower you to the ground upon completion of your climb. Your experienced climbing guides will ensure you are safely connected to the system, encourage you as you ascend, and share their knowledge and stories of adventures in the mountains. This is the perfect outing for first-timers or experienced climbers looking for a challenge. After your climbs, enjoy a tasty snack while taking in the scenic Alaskan mountainside.
