Your adventure begins with a narrated coach ride to the Sitka Sound Science Center. Once you arrive, follow along with a guide as they tell you about the commercial fishing industry in Sitka and how their on-site hatchery keeps it alive. Then venture to the aquarium section to see and even touch some of the creatures of the sea that call Sitka Sound home. You’ll then take a seat within a private dining area for a refreshing iced tea bar plus delicious salmon snack, freshly-caught and locally-sourced, alongside salad and roll. Reboard your coach and your adventure continues with a brief drive across the bridge to the University of Alaska for a picturesque photo opportunity. Along the way, your driver-guide will recount stories from WWII and how the events of that time shaped the history and character of Sitka. On clear days, you may even catch a stunning view of Mt. Edgecumbe, a dormant volcano rising in the distance.
