Hop onto a transformed open-sided red pickup called an Aurigas that's waiting at the pier to take you to the base of the El Faro Lighthouse. Located at the entrance to the port of Mazatlan the lighthouse, completed in 1892, is listed among the highest-placed natural lighthouses in the world. There, you'll begin your guided trek up the gravel path and stairs that lead to the lighthouse at the top of Creston Hill. Both the Hill and the Lighthouse afford spectacular land and sea views. As you climb this natural walk, your guide will share knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area. At the Lighthouse, you'll learn fascinating facts about its history and technology. After a refreshing break on top of the hill, you'll return back to the base and enjoy a drive through Old Town's narrow cobblestone streets to admire its colorful buildings and preserved colonial architecture with French, German, and Italian influences.
