A short bus journey from the port will take you to a typical Mykonos homestead, or spiti. Upon arrival, you'll be warmly welcomed with the traditional loukoumi (Greece's version of Turkish delight), and a cheery glass of Teta's liqueur. Next, it's a tour of the kitchen and Patio, and an informative lesson on how to buy your own vegetables in season. Waiting for you in a corner of the Patio will be a small sampler of local specialties - toasted bread with kopanisti (a local cheese), louza (a local smoked ham), tomatoes and olives, along with locally made wine and much-beloved raki liquor. During your cooking demonstration you'll learn the culinary secrets of Greek spinach pie, stuffed tomatoes and peppers, and the traditional Greek dip tzatziki. Then, sit and indulge in the delicious meal you helped prepare. Before making your way back to the ship, enjoy a photo opportunity at the spiti, a great way to mark a memorable day.
