Historical and beautiful, Portugal’s capital is a city full of surprises. You will start with a brief stop at the Alto do Parque Eduardo VII Belvedere, named in honor of England's King Edward Vll, who came to Lisbon in 1902 to reaffirm the Anglo-Portuguese alliance. From there you will pass by the statue of Pombal Marques, the man who re-planned the city after the earthquake of 1755. The drive will take you across the 25th April Bridge, sister of the Golden Gate in San Francisco, to the base of Christ the King statue, from where magnificent views over Lisbon can be seen. Your next photo stop will be at Jerónimos Monastery, this marvelous structure is one of the city’s finest examples of unique Manueline architecture. Before being driven back to the ship you will pass by the Belém Tower. At the Belem Tower, the turrets and open balconies make an interesting and historical snapshot.
