See the exciting city of Stavanger up close during a guided Nordic walk, a 'total body' version of walking, using specially designed walking poles adapted to each participant. During your tour you'll get a unique workout using most muscles, combined with a true nature experience. Receive your walking poles, and proceed through the city center, towards Godalen. Located on the peninsula Storhaug, this is a popular trail for locals and the perfect area for Nordic walking. Stretching for almost 2 miles, this coastal trail will take you from one small harbor to another. The trail runs in open countryside right beside the fjord, offering fantastic views. You'll also pass lovely beaches, as well as large rocky headlands protruding into the fjord. Relax and rest in a peaceful outdoor area, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy one of Norway's best-loved (and also one of the simplest) culinary treats, brown cheese. Together with rye bread and a bottle of water, this constitutes a typical Norwegian trail snack. As you walk back toward the pier, you'll continue along the Blue Promenade, a pretty path which circles the harbor in the city center.
