In 1942, Hitler ordered the construction of the Atlantic Wall. The fortifications ran along the coasts of Scandinavia and Continental Europe. Begin your exploration at the Skagen Bunker Museum where you’ll visit a German-type Regelbau 638 bunker. Learn about how this landmark was used as a sanitary bunker for wounded German soldiers. Next, you’ll visit Bungsbo Fort which consists of 80 concrete bunkers built by German occupiers during WWII. See the command bunker, the examination bunker, and the large canons from a Danish artillery ship that was sunk by the German navy. Then, you’ll visit the historic Mollehuset restaurant where you’ll enjoy a Danish pastry and coffee. Finally, visit the Jutland Resistance Museum where you’ll learn about the resistance movement and everyday life during the German occupation.
