Destination Highlight: Christchurch Gondola and Punting on the Avon

Discover the wonderful sights of Christchurch via land and water during this fun -filled punting experience. Your excursion features a scenic and relaxing punt boat -ride along the Avon River, stroll to Cashel Street, as well as the spectacular panorama aboard the Christchurch Gondola. Lyttelton, Gondola-Ride, Port Hills, Mount Cavendish Depart the pier for a short transfer to the gondola base. After receiving your safety instructions, board your gondola (cable car) for a scenic and exhilarating ride that traverses the slopes of Mount Cavendish in the Port Hills. Summit Station, Lyttelton Harbour, Port Hills, Southern Alps, Canterbury Plains, Pacific Ocean. The Christ church Gondola offers spectacular panoramic views of the city, Lyttelton Harbour and beyond from the Summit Station, which is perched atop the Port Hills. In addition, take in stunning vistas of the snow -capped Southern Alps, sprawling Canterbury Plains, and sparkling waters of Pegasus Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Following your ride aboard the Christchurch Gondola, some free time is made available at the Gondola Top Station to marvel at the views, browse for souvenirs, and/or purchase refreshments at your own expense. Afterward, re-board your coach and continue to Christchurch. Upon arrival, proceed to the parking area, leave your coach and take a short walk to the punting station on the Avon River. After receiving your safety and punting instructions, embark your punt, a flat-bottomed boat, and enjoy a leisurely cruise along the Avon River. Along the way, sink back into the velvet cushions of your boat and take in the exquisite scenery as the Edwardian punter gently glides you down the river. At the conclusion of your tour, re -board your coach and commence a short drive back to the pier. You may choose to remain in town and return to the pier at your leisure via complimentary shuttle bus.
