Walk the short distance from the pier to the Viaduct Basin, where the America's Cup yachts were formerly based. Here, you'll be met by your expert crew and provided with a safety briefing before boarding one of the America's Cup yachts built for the 1995 challenge in San Diego. As you glide out into Auckland Harbor and the Hauraki Gulf, you'll be encouraged to participate as a crew member. Winds permitting, you may reach speeds of up to 12 knots. If you prefer, you can sit back and watch the action, as your fellow passengers take the helm and work the grinders to hoist and trim the sails alongside the crew, for an unforgettable sail down the scenic Waitemata Harbor. Back on land, capture photos of the yachts in the harbor and enjoy a leisurely stroll back to your ship.
