Depart the port on a short drive, arriving at the bustling Mercado Agricola de Montevideo (MAM), housed in a beautifully restored, landmark-status building that's over a hundred years old, and which houses multiple and varied food stalls. Leisurely stroll through inviting displays of everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to Uruguay's famous beef steaks, as well as artisan cheeses, fresh fish and seafood, flowers, plants, local handcraft, and even craft beer. Travel through the city on a panoramic drive to reach your lunch destination, Bar Facal, one of the city's typical bars for local food, as well known for its tango performances at Noon as for its food and wine. Take note of the fountain of locks, a lovers' tradition, located just outside the restaurant's entrance, then be seated to enjoy one of Uruguay's national dishes, chivito (a loaded steak sandwich), Uruguayan wine, if you wish, and dessert or coffee. Then, head for the Torres Garcia Museum which reveals the work of Uruguay's most influential artist, before returning to the port.
