Small Group: Behind the Patagonian Footprints: Museum Egidio Feruglio
The Museum of Paleontology Egidio Feruglio, a science research and exhibition center, has as its focus fossil remains from the dawning of time in Patagonia, as well as the geological changes that affected the region in prehistory. Every year, investigators and technicians from the facility travel through Chubut province to find and explore potential sites of scientific interest. After perhaps millions of years in the sediment, fossils and paleontological samples are hidden, requiring special skills and knowledge to unearth them and unravel their mysteries. These pieces provide valuable information of how life developed on Earth, and the forces that influenced that process. Take a behind-the-scenes look at how paleontologists work, as they rebuild and study these millennial giants. After two fascinating hours touring the facility accompanied by scientists, journey to the Welsh village of Dolavon and linger over a tasty lunch of wine, appetizers, homemade pasta, and a custard dessert at El Molino traditional restaurant.
