Drive to Samba City, a 28-acre area located in the heart of the Rio Gamboa neighborhood that is filled with warehouses and barracks that are used by the samba schools to work on their floats and costumes for the next Carnival. Samba City has a total of 14 warehouses, where Rio's 12 special samba schools of are housed. This tour offers a unique opportunity for you to witness the construction and production process of more than 6,000 costumes and 15 floats. Visit the warehouse of the Academicos da Grande Rio, one of Rio's first group schools. See exhibits and videos about the history of samba and the Carnival parade. Next, try on authentic Carnival costumes, and take photos in them. Afterward, enjoy a refreshing caipirinha drink, and experience the music of Carnival during a samba class with percussion by artists from the Grande Rio Samba School.
