Destination Highlight: City of Colors - Temple, Village and Market
See Busan at its cultural and colorful best on a full-day tour in which you'll visit some of the city's most beloved sites. Begin with Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, founded in 1376 by the Buddhist preacher Naong. Located at the top of a huge rock rising from the ocean, the sound of the East Sea ocean waves and the melody of sutra chanting from the temple create a magical effect, as you walk the grounds. Then, discover the fun, artsy side of Busan visiting Gamcheon, the city's revived, steep-hilled arts and shopping village that boasts pastel-colored buildings, and pastel-painted steps leading to ever-changing street art, street food, and a museum. After enjoying the delicious Korean Pork BBQ at the local restaurant, visit the largest seafood market in Korea. Most of the vendors who sell fish are women, and are called "Jagalchi Ajumma" meaning middle-aged or married woman. Finally, join the hustle and bustle as you walk Gukje International Market, Busan's largest downtown market. Originally established by Korean War refugees, the market boasts small vendors selling everything from traditional Korean costumes, to local vendors selling silk, bags, and curtains, as well as imported items.
